Firefighters from Hallowell were called to the facility at 5 p.m. when a tenant noticed smoke as he was leaving work for the day. Fire Chief Scott Manlow said 30 firefighters from Hallowell, and later Picton, remained on scene for close to five hours distinguishing the blaze, while a few remained overnight. "The guys were getting tired so we brought in some help from Picton and then left a skeleton crew on scene overnight to maintain the scene," he said. "We were able to determine the cause of fire was electrical in nature." In addition to damage to the building, a number of ATVs and snowmobiles were damaged by the fire. Manlow said aside from the man leaving work for the day who reported the fire, there was no one else in the shop and there were no injuries.
