Sanders was convicted of grand larceny in 2008, and serving a 3-year sentence in a Tennessee prison, Byrd said. "He was a trustee for at the Dyer County Sheriff's Department and walked off a work detail," Byrd said. Deputies discovered a Dodge truck with a utility trailer parked on Will Kibby Road in the Cumbest Bluff area on Thursday, he said. After deputies checked the tag on the vehicle, they learned it was stolen from Mobile, Ala., the sheriff said. The utility trailer, meanwhile, was registered to an individual in the Buzzard Roost community of George County, Byrd said. When deputies contacted to owner, they also discovered that a Honda Rubicon ATV was missing at of their driveway, too, Byrd said. "He didn't notice the deputies until it was too late," Byrd said. "He was quickly taken into custody." Sanders told deputies he sold the ATV on Wednesday at the Shell station at the intersection of Miss. 57 and Interstate 10, Byrd said. Sanders was charged by Jackson County deputies for two counts of possession of stolen property and an escape warrant had been issued for him in Tennessee, according to Byrd. The 57-year-old has pending grand larceny charges in George County, Miss.; Mobile County, Ala.; and Ridgeland, Miss., Byrd said. "There could also be pending charges in Florida for grand larceny regarding a car theft," the sheriff said. Michael Mark Dougan-Sanders, 29, of Lawndale, a third-generation pressman at The Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News, died in an auto accident Sunday on I-95. Mr. Sanders was driving his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution near the Girard Avenue exit when it went out of control and collided with a tractor-trailer. His three passengers were also killed. Police are investigating. Mr. Dougan-Sanders grew up in Olney and graduated from Northeast Philadelphia High School. In 1999, he joined his father, Harry Sanders Jr., in the newspapers' printing plant in Upper Merion Township. His grandfather Harry Sr., who died in 1983, worked in the plant when it was in Philadelphia. Mr. Dougan-Sanders started out on the wipe-up crew, cleaning presses. In 2002, he became an apprentice and earned his union card in 2006. He was a member of Local 16N. "He was well-liked and was a hard worker," his father said. As a child, Mr. Dougan-Sanders took Francis as a confirmation name in honor of the patron saint of animals, St. Francis of Assisi. He loved cats and was always bringing home strays, his father said. Mr. Dougan-Sanders enjoyed fishing and carpentry. He built a storage shed in Lawndale and a garage for ATVs in the Poconos that were as sturdy as houses, his father said. He was also a good mechanic and raced his car at Atco. In addition to his father, Mr. Dougan-Sanders is survived by his mother, Kathleen; his grandmother Suzanne Sanders; six brothers; three sisters; and his fiancee, Stacey Axelrod. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 100 Old Soldiers Rd., Cheltenham. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
